Registration Terms, Policies & Code of Conduct

These Terms, Policies & Code of Conduct apply to all programs, leagues, camps, clinics, teams, tournaments, events, and activities operated by NextNLine Basketball Academy ("NextNLine", "the Academy", or "the Club").

By completing registration and submitting payment, the participant and/or parent or legal guardian acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, Policies & Code of Conduct.

1. Registration & Payment

  • Registration is confirmed only after full payment or an approved payment plan has been received.

  • Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable except where required by applicable law.

  • Tournament fees, uniforms, travel, and other optional expenses may be billed separately unless otherwise stated.

  • Failure to meet payment deadlines may result in the loss of a roster spot.

2. Attendance & Commitment

Players are expected to:

  • Attend all scheduled practices, games, tournaments, and team activities.

  • Arrive on time and prepared.

  • Notify coaches in advance when unable to attend.

  • Demonstrate commitment to their teammates and coaches throughout the season.

3. Team Placement

Placement is determined solely by NextNLine Basketball Academy.

Team assignments are based on:

  • Skill level

  • Basketball IQ

  • Effort

  • Coachability

  • Attitude

  • Position

  • Athletic ability

  • Team chemistry

  • Long-term player development

Roster decisions are final and may change throughout the season.

4. Tournament Participation

Players are expected to attend scheduled tournaments and competitions.

The Academy reserves the right to:

  • Adjust rosters

  • Combine teams

  • Invite guest players

  • Modify tournament schedules

when necessary due to injuries, illness, roster balance, player availability, or operational requirements.

5. Club Commitment

Players are expected to make NextNLine Basketball Academy their primary club basketball program during the season.

Participation with another club team during the same season requires prior written approval from the Academy Director.

This policy does not apply to:

  • School basketball teams

  • Provincial teams

  • National team programs

  • Academy-approved opportunities

Failure to comply may result in suspension or removal from the program.

6. Playing Time

Playing time is earned.

Coaches evaluate:

  • Attendance

  • Preparation

  • Work ethic

  • Coachability

  • Team-first attitude

  • Defensive effort

  • Competitive situations

  • Team needs

Equal playing time is not guaranteed, particularly during tournaments, playoffs, showcase events, or championship games.

All coaching decisions are final.

7. Practice & Event Locations

Practices, games, and events may take place at multiple facilities.

Families are responsible for monitoring TeamSnap or other official Academy communication channels for schedules and updates.

8. Schedule Changes

The Academy reserves the right to modify:

  • Practice schedules

  • Game schedules

  • Coaches

  • Tournament participation

  • Facilities

  • Program structure

due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

9. Academy Apparel

Players are expected to wear Academy-issued or Academy-approved practice gear and uniforms as directed by coaching staff.

10. Code of Conduct

All players, parents, guardians, coaches, and spectators are expected to demonstrate:

  • Respect

  • Integrity

  • Accountability

  • Sportsmanship

  • Positive communication

  • Professional behavior

The following are prohibited:

  • Bullying

  • Harassment

  • Discrimination

  • Abuse

  • Intimidation

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct

  • Sideline coaching that interferes with instruction

  • Conduct that damages the reputation of the Academy

11. Parent & Spectator Expectations

Parents and spectators are expected to:

  • Support all players respectfully.

  • Allow coaches to coach.

  • Respect officials and opponents.

  • Refrain from confrontational behavior before, during, or after games.

  • Model positive sportsmanship at all Academy events.

12. Suspension & Removal

The Academy reserves the right to suspend or remove any participant whose behavior violates these policies.

No refunds will be issued for disciplinary suspensions or removals.

13. Injury & Assumption of Risk

Basketball is a physical sport involving inherent risks of injury.

By registering, participants and parents voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NextNLine Basketball Academy shall not be liable except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

14. Medical Authorization

In the event of an emergency, parents authorize Academy staff to obtain emergency medical treatment if they cannot be contacted.

All medical expenses remain the responsibility of the participant or parent/guardian.

15. Photography & Media Release

The Academy may photograph or record participants during practices, games, camps, clinics, and events.

Images and videos may be used for:

  • Website

  • Social media

  • Advertising

  • Promotional materials

  • Marketing publications

Parents may opt out by providing written notice before the participant's first session.

16. Communication

Official communication will be provided through TeamSnap, email, text messaging, or other Academy-approved communication platforms.

Families are responsible for maintaining current contact information.

17. Personal Property

The Academy is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.

18. Cancelled Sessions

Cancelled practices or events may be rescheduled at the Academy's discretion.

Refunds are not provided for cancellations resulting from circumstances beyond the Academy's reasonable control, including weather, facility closures, or public health restrictions.

19. Complaints & Conflict Resolution

Questions or concerns should first be directed privately to Academy staff.

Participants and families agree not to publicly criticize players, coaches, officials, or the Academy through social media or other public forums before allowing the Academy an opportunity to address concerns.

20. Safe Sport Commitment

NextNLine Basketball Academy is committed to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive, and positive environment free from:

  • Bullying

  • Harassment

  • Abuse

  • Discrimination

  • Intimidation

All participants are expected to uphold these standards.

21. Privacy

Personal information collected during registration is used solely for:

  • Program administration

  • Communication

  • Emergency contact

  • Insurance

  • Athlete development

  • Operational purposes

Information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.

22. Policy Updates

NextNLine Basketball Academy reserves the right to update or modify these Terms, Policies & Code of Conduct at any time.

The most current version will apply to all participants.

Acknowledgement

By registering for any NextNLine Basketball Academy program, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, Policies & Code of Conduct. I understand the inherent risks associated with basketball participation and confirm that I am the participant, parent, legal guardian, or otherwise authorized to accept these Terms on behalf of the participant.
